We are very pleased to announce the general release and availability of
Amlib 5.2. This release will provide you with many new enhancements and
features to Amlib’s functionality, as well as a number of
software fixes.
Special thanks to the sites that participated in the beta-testing of
Amlib 5.2. Their efforts have been very much appreciated.
All Amlib 5.2 documentation and software installers are available in
the ‘Downloads and
Software Updates’ area of the Amlib Content Portal at:
New
documentation available includes Release Notes, How To’s,
Online
Help files and Installation Guides. The Release Notes will provide you
with an overview of all 5.2 software functionality and fixes. The How
To’s will provide you with details to assist with
understanding
and use of the new areas of functionality.
If your system is currently running a version of Amlib earlier than
5.1, you will need to complete the necessary upgrade(s) to take your
system to 5.1 before upgrading to 5.2. If you require assistance with
this please contact Support.
Libraries running Amlib on SQLServer 2005 or 2008, SQLBase and Oracle
10g or higher will be able to implement this new release. Amlib 5.2 is
also compatible with Windows 7 (32-bit).
Testing against Windows 7 (64-bit) is underway and will be completed
shortly. Please contact Amlib Support if you are currently running or
considering upgrading to Windows 7 (64-bit).
Netopacs 5.2 is compatible with Windows Server 2003 & Windows
Server 2008 and must be run as a service on Windows Server (running via
WebConsole is not supported).
AmlibNet 5.2 is compatible with Windows Server 2003
Libraries currently using Amlib on SQL Base may upgrade to 5.2 but
should be aware that future releases of Amlib beyond 5.2 may not be
supported on this platform. If you are interested in upgrading from
SQLBase to SQLServer 2008 Express edition (free from Microsoft), you
should contact our support staff to discuss the migration path of your
system from SQL Base to SQL Server. We realise that this migration of
Amlib to another supported platform may be part of a longer term plan
for your library and we are happy to work with you in this planning.
As part of your Amlib upgrade you will be required to enter the Amlib
serial numbers for the products that your site is currently licensed
for. To obtain these serial
numbers you
